Copy an Assignment Batch

Use the following procedure to copy an assignment batch from the Search tab of the Automatic Assignment page:

1.  Select Automatic Assignment from the Assignment section of the Patron menu. The List of Assignment Batches grid is displayed in the Search tab on the Automatic Assignment page.

2.  If necessary, search for an assignment batch.

3.  Click Copy next to an assignment batch. The Copy Assignment Batch page will be displayed. Settings used in the original assignment batch will be used in the new copied assignment batch.

4.  Edit the following fields, as necessary:

Name: Enter a name for the assignment batch. By default, the Name will be “Copy of [original assignment name]”.

Term: Select a term from the drop-down menu.

Alternatively, the Term field can be left blank and Occupancy Start and Occupancy End dates can be entered instead. However, for a Ranked Assignment, a Term must be selected.

Occupancy Start: Use the date and time controls to select a start time for the assignment. The date will be auto-filled when the Term is selected.

Occupancy End: Use the date and time controls to select an end time for the assignment. The date will be auto-filled when the Term is selected.

Is Ranked Assignment Batch: Check the Is Ranked Assignment Batch checkbox to change the assignment batch to a batch that assigns patrons to facilities based on their ranking of a list of buildings. Refer to the Ranked Assignments Overview section for more information. Changing an existing batch to a Ranked Assignment batch will remove any existing data from the Facilities, Criteria, and Results tabs.

Note:  If any of these settings are entered or changed after running the Automatic Assignments batch, the proposed or applied assignments will be erased. In this instance, a warning will be displayed and there will be an option to cancel the changes to prevent erasing the proposed assignments. Actual assignments and associated contract items are not erased.

5.  If necessary, enter any Notes about the batch.

6.  If necessary, edit the Assignment Batch Options. Refer to the Edit Options for an Assignment Batch section for more information.

7.  Click Save.
