Edit a Patron

Use the following procedure to edit a patron’s general information settings:

1.  From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for the patron that you want to edit.

2.  From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.

3.  Next to the patron’s profile photo, click View More Information.

4.  Click Edit.

5.  Enter or edit information for the following fields:

     First name: Patron’s first name

     Middle name: Patron’s middle name

     Last name: Patron’s last name

     Nickname: Patron’s nickname

     Preferred Name: Patron’s preferred name. If a Preferred Name is defined for a patron, it will replace the First Name value on a patron’s MyResCenter Web profile.

Note: ResCenter can be configured to display a patron’s name using a combination of the previous fields. Refer to the System Parameters (Patron) section for more information on configuring the patron name display format in ResCenter.

     Email: Patron’s email address

     Gender: Patron’s gender

     Birth date: Patron’s birth date, in MM/DD/YYYY format

     Alternate ID: Patron’s alternate ID number

     Cell phone: Patron’s cell phone number

Note: The Cell Phone field is linked to the value of the patron attribute TM Cell Phone #, as of the current date.

     Mailbox: Patron’s mailbox number

     Web URL: Patron’s web site address

Note: For information about Family Affiliation, refer to the Patron Family Affiliation section.

6.  If necessary, select the Suspend All Processing checkbox to put the patron’s account on hold. For more information about this option, refer to the Suspend All Processing for a Patron section.

7.  The Last ___ Activity field displays the date and time of the patron’s last activity in CS Gold. This is a read-only field.

If the Last ___ Activity field’s date and time are displayed in red, this indicates the patron has been inactive in CS Gold longer than the defined value in the Number of days from last activity for alert setting. Patron Activity from CS Gold settings are configured via the Patron System Parameters page in the Setup module.

Note: The Last ___ Activity field will display N/A for patrons not Active in the current term (refer to the following Active terms setting). If the institution’s Patron Activity from CS Gold settings are not configured (such as for non-CS Gold institutions), the Last ___ Activity field will not be displayed.

8.  If necessary, edit the Active terms. Select the terms in which the patron is active in the Active terms window.

9.  If necessary, add or edit the Alternate ID number for the patron. The patron’s Card Number is also displayed but cannot be edited.

10. Current Assignment: For patrons with an active facility assignment, the facility will be listed as a link. Clicking the link displays the facility in the Facilities module.

11. Click Save. The Patron successfully updated message is displayed.

12. If necessary, update a patron photo.

Additional patron information can be viewed or edited by selecting a tab below the patron’s general information.

The patron’s facility assignments can also be viewed in the Room Assignments calendar below the patron’s general information. If necessary, right-click on a contract and select Go To Contract to view or edit the contract under the Contracts tab.
