Add a Criteria Expression

Use the following procedure to add a criteria expression to an assignment batch from the Criteria tab of the Automatic Assignment page:

1.  Select Automatic Assignment from the Assignment section of the Patron menu. The List of Assignment Batches grid is displayed in the Search tab on the Automatic Assignment page.

2.  If necessary, search for an assignment batch.

3.  Click Select on the desired assignment batch, and then select the Criteria tab. The Criteria grid is displayed.

4.  Click New. The Criterion Properties section will be displayed.

5.  Enter a name for the expression in the Criteria field.

6.  Adjust the rank of the expression by using the Rank slider. This determines how much value is placed on the criteria compared to the other criterion.

7.  Create an expression using the Expression Editor. Compare a Candidate Attribute to another option by selecting either Candidate, Facility, Value, or Date. Refer to the Criterion Properties Overview for more information on each option.

8.  When the expression is configured, click a place in the expression tree (either on an existing expression or in the blank space) where the expression will be inserted, and click Add.

9.  Continue adding expressions to the expression tree. To move an expression to another place in the tree, click Up or drag-and-drop the expression to a new location.

10. If necessary, select a group of expressions and use the All and Any options to toggle the requirements for the expression groups to be true.

11. Click Save in the Criteria grid to save the criteria.
