View an Asset’s Locations

When a contract item is created for an asset, the item is assigned to the patron. The contract item does not explicitly contain the asset’s location. However, in the patron’s profile, a user can view where the patron is currently assigned and determine the item’s location.

Alternatively, an asset’s location can be defined if the asset is not currently assigned to a patron via a contract item. A location cannot be defined for an asset that assigned to a patron during any date range.

Use the following procedure to view and configure an asset’s locations from the List of Assets grid on the Assets page:

1.  From the Inventory section of the Facilities menu, select Assets. The Assets page is displayed.

2.  If necessary, filter the List of Assets grid by using the Search filters.

3.  Click Show Locations next to an asset. The Asset Locations section is displayed.

4.  In the List of Locations Asset is in Use, each of the asset’s location is displayed with the Start and End dates, if applicable.

5.  To add a location, enter a facility name and use the facility Lookup or facility Tree drop-down menu to select a facility to add as the asset’s location. Enter a Location Date Range for the asset.

6.  If necessary, click Edit next to a location to edit the date range associated with the asset.

To delete the location, click Delete.
