Attachment Item Types

Add an Attachment

Use the following procedure to add an attachment from the Communications tab:

1.  From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for a patron.

2.  From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.

3.  Select the Communications tab.

4.  In the Communication Items grid, click Add and select Add Attachment. The Add Attachment page is displayed.

5.  Select an Attachment Type from the drop-down menu.

Note: Attachment types are defined on the Patron Attachment Types page via Setup > Patron > Attachment Types.

6.  Select a Date for the attachment. The field defaults to the current date.

7.  If necessary, select a Term to associate the attachment with a specific Term.

8.  Enter any necessary notes about the attachment in the Note field.

9.  Click Select to browse to a file and attach it to the patron’s profile.

10. Click Save.

Edit an Attachment

Use the following procedure to edit an attachment from the Communications tab:

1.  From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for a patron.

2.  From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.

3.  Select the Communications tab.

4.  In the Communication Items grid, click Edit next to an attachment.

5.  Enter or edit information for the following fields:

     Attachment Type: Type of attachment

     Date: Date file was attached. The field defaults to the current date.

     Note: Notes regarding attached file

     Term: If necessary, select a Term to associate the attachment with a specific Term.

6.  Click Save.

Delete an Attachment

Use the following procedure to delete an attachment from the Communications tab:

1.  From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for a patron.

2.  From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.

3.  Select the Communications tab.

4.  From the Communication Items grid, click Delete next to an attachment. A confirmation message will be displayed.

5.  Click OK. The attachment is deleted.

Download an Attachment

Use the following procedure to download an attachment from the Communications tab:

1.  From the Patron menu, select Search for Patron and perform a search for a patron.

2.  From the Patron List grid, click a row to select a patron.

3.  Select the Communications tab.

4.  In the Communication Items grid, click View next to the attachment. The browser’s download dialog will be displayed.

Alternatively, when in Edit mode, click on the AttachmentName.ext button. The browser’s download dialog will be displayed.
