The Assignments section of the Setup menu provides an Assignment Maximums page for defining and editing assignment maximums. Staff can use assignment maximums to put limits on the number of patrons allowed assignment to a certain facility based on specific patron attributes. For instance, a maximum can be defined based on the Class Attribute to limit the number of sophomores to a facility. Once the limit is met, no more patrons with the Sophomore Class attribute may select a room using that Select Room function. They must use another accessible Select Room function.
Assignment Maximums can be defined using an exact number or a percentage. For example, an administrator ma designate that Building A should not have more than 15 seniors assigned to it.
Assignment Maximums are not limited to one facility. Rules can be defined for a cluster of facilities or to just one within a facility.
Assignment Maximums are used for Group Definitions using the SelectRoom function in Odyssey HMS. When patrons are selecting rooms using the Group function, they may be limited to what spaces are available due to an assignment maximum for the available facilities.
