Preferences allow institutions to match patrons to the best facility and roommate(s) based on their choices and the ranking of the choices. If an institution allows patrons to mutually select their roommates, preferences must be defined to capture the mutually requested roommate choice.
Preferences are defined in the Setup module of Odyssey HMS. For more information about Preferences, refer to the System Settings > Setting Up Preferences section of the Odyssey HMS Help.
Use the following procedure to add a preference to an assignment batch from the Criteria tab of the Automatic Assignment page:
1. Select Automatic Assignment from the Assignment section of the Patron menu. The List of Assignment Batches grid is displayed in the Search tab on the Automatic Assignment page.
2. If necessary, search for an assignment batch.
3. Click Select on the desired assignment batch, and then select the Criteria tab. The Criteria grid is displayed.
4. Click Add Preference.
5. Select a preference and click Save. The preference will be added to the Criteria grid.
If necessary, multiple preferences can be selected by pressing Shift and selecting a range, or pressing Alt and selecting individual preferences.
6. If necessary, click Edit on the Preference to change the Preference’s Rank.
