The following configuration steps are required before using the Lottery function. These settings are accessed via the System Parameters page in the Patron section of the Setup menu.
1. Select System Parameters page from the Patron section of the Setup menu.
2. In the Resident Room Selection Setting section, set the following values:
•Independent pledge attribute: This yes/no patron attribute is used to indicate whether or not the patron has taken the independent pledge. Patrons who do not take the independent pledge are required to choose a meal plan.
•Priority reason attribute: This text attribute can be used to determine a graduate student's lottery points.
•Lottery facility attribute: An attribute that will be applied to facilities that constitute a match for patron assignments that merit additional lottery points. Using the HMS UI, this attribute must be created/edited and given a list of possible values.
3. Click Save Changes.
