Add a Term

Use the following procedure to add a term:

3.  Select Terms from the Global section of the Setup menu. The Manage Terms page is displayed.

4.  Click Add.

5.  In the General section, configure the following information:

     Term: Enter a name for the term.

     SIS Term: If necessary, enter the Term name used to map the new Term to a corresponding Term in the SIS system.

     Start Date: Enter or select the term’s start date.

     End Date: Enter or select the term’s end date.

     Description: Enter a description for the term (such as “Fall 2021”).

     Status: Select either Active or Inactive.

Select Active to make the term available for use within ResCenter and HMS. To create a term but make it currently unavailable, select Inactive.

6.  The Academic Dates section allows users to configure term-specific dates—such as the Applications Due and Classes Start dates—in documents and e-mails.

Configure the following information in the Academic Dates section:

     Application Due Date: Enter or select the date the Term’s applications are due.

     Advance Pay Deadline: Enter or select the date of the Term’s deadline for when patrons can make advance payment for the Term.

     Cancellation Deadline: Enter or select the date of the Term’s deadline for when patrons can cancel their assignment for the Term.

     Classes Start: This Enter or select the date classes begin for the Term.

     Census Date: Enter or select the date used for reporting the population on campus for the Term.

7.  In the Meal Plan Processing Dates section, configure settings for meal plan processing dates. These settings are used for instances when patrons choose a different meal plan after a term has started:

     Add New Meal Plan Start Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can begin selecting a new meal plan.

     Add New Meal Plan End Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can no longer select a new meal plan.

     Increase Meals Start Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can begin increasing meals on their plan.

     Increase Meals End Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can no longer increase meals on their plan.

     Decrease Meals Start Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can begin decreasing meals on their plan.

     Decrease Meals End Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can no longer decrease meals on their plan.

     Cancel Start Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can cancel their meal plan.

     Cancel End Date: Enter or select the date when patrons can no longer cancel their meal plan.

8.  Click Save.
